The feed that is produced could come out as a mash, pellet or crumbles. The mash is the most commonly known feed type in Nigeria. Classes of feed for poultry are the Chick Mash, Growers Mash, Layers Mash, Broilers Starter Mash and Broilers Finisher Mash. Each of these can also come as pellets or crumbles.

Fish feed is always produced as pelletized feed.  Rabbit feed are also preferably produced as pellets because rabbits easily react to dust from the mash. The pelletized feed comes in various sizes depending on the die on the pelletizer.
